John, the BBE goes last in the chain, just before the amp, or you'll be fighting with the EQ.

I have used an earlier version of this unit. I don't use it any more. The reason is that it gives you a sound that I can best describe as 'brittle' that begins to almost hurt your ears after awhile. At first, it sounds great, but then your ears get 'tired'. That doesn't make any sense, I know, but it will.

Keep in mind, my method of using any effect is very conservative: turn it up until I hear it, then cut in half. Thus I am not over-using the effect that I describe.

However, I have not used BBE in live stage work, only the studio. It may very well be worthwhile in live work. Like any effect, use in moderation.
