There are a few ways to do this.

Likely the best is to use one of the tracks (like the strings track) as the track that has both of these instruments. Using the F5 key, you can change RealTracks at any bar/chorus, so you can change the RealTracks as you want.

An alternative is to use 2 tracks... one for banjo, the other for guitar. Then use the F5 key to MUTE tracks at certain bars.

Yet another option, is to create a Medley soloist, which changes every chorus (in your case). That would keep changing between guitar and banjo. You can make medleys to change every N bars as well, for example every 4 bars, or every part marker.
