I just remembered that this 2003 song is mostly BIAB, using the style POPBAL_2 but replacing the MIDI guitar in that style with my own acoustic guitar part (played high with a capo). I also played the synth parts myself (I think this was LiveSynthPro back in the day). I sang a few harmony parts that were OK despite my lack of pitch correction tools at the time. This was pre-RT (I guess), so I rendered the MIDI parts with whatever software synths I had at the time in Cakewalk Home Studio. I had one that used sound fonts, I forget which one it was - it sometimes worked.

This was a song I wrote and recorded for my younger daughter on the occasion of her Bat Mitzvah. It has a lot of lyric references that were specific to her, but I decided to put it on my first CD anyway. The funny thing is, this song has been my best seller when it came to iTunes (dozens of downloads! ). I sometimes wondered why since I think I have better songs out there. But one time I sold a CD through CD Baby and learned one possible answer. At that time, CD Baby would provide contact info on the buyers (maybe they still do but I haven't checked in years). I emailed this woman in Colorado, thanked her for buying the CD, and asked her how she found it. She said she was searching for father/daughter songs to use at her wedding. She wanted to use something different, and when she found my "Daddy's Little Girl," she liked it and ordered the CD. She did use the song at her wedding, which I thought was cool.

So maybe it's all about the title!
