Hi.

The MIDI track is just note information and is neither stereo nor mono. The stereo is generated by the drum panning in the VSTi, or synth.

One way in which you can get round this is to convert the MIDI track to audio by right clicking on the track in the TRACKS window and selecting AUTO CONVERT INDIVIDUAL MIDI TRACK TO AUDIO TRACK from the menu. You now have a stereo audio track which you need to select and then go to TRACK - SPLIT A STEREO TRACK INTO TWO MONO TRACKS. Now cut one of the tracks and paste it over the other one using the paste command MERGE WITH EXISTING DATA. This leaves you with a mono audio track containing all the drum sounds which can be panned hard left or right.

It sounds complicated, but it only takes a minute to do when you are familiar with the routine. Maybe someone else has a more elegant solution, but I can't think of any other method.

Hope this helps.
