Hi,
i'd be grateful for a little guidance from all you technically minded folk.
My music studio PC (a 6 year old machine running XP SP3) is not booting into Windows.
It merely cycles from off to the bios flash screen.
I have not tried all that much so far, not being particularly computer literate, but I have:
- reset the bios to factory defaults
- launched a version of Ubuntu to see if my internal hard drive is recognised. It is.
- noted that it is not appear to be a power unit problem as the PC is quite happy in Ubuntu or working through other CD-based utility systems
How best to troubleshoot the problem?
I do have an image backup made not so very long ago. Would it make more sense simply to try to restore from this?
I do have the original Windows CD, but do not feel all that comfortable in the recovery console.
