I've done some midi files of individual instruments that are in separate midi files. I would like to import them into a single seq file in RB and mix down to an audio file. I know that you can import multiple audio files into RB, but can you do the same with multiple midi files? I didn't see anything about this in Help--just audio. Thanks for any help/comments.

Use the FILE - LOAD SCRAP command to load the files into the scrap buffer. You can then paste the files into the sequence from the buffer.

I don't think you can do it directly, but I believe you can do it via the midi import in the melody (and soloist) menu.
You'll need to make sure that the MIDI files are on different channels in each MIDI file and make note of which channel (just indicate that in the MIDI file name).
Select "Melody, Edit Melody, Import Melody from MIDI File".
Select the file to import and click OK.
Select the channel you want to import and import the first MIDI file.
Repeat for each subsequent file, however, in the import dialog box will be a selection called "Merge with existing data on track". Make sure this is checked, so you don't overwrite the files already imported.
Note that you have other options in this dialog box:
* Number of bars to offset from the start of MIDI file: this allows you to specify the start location within the MIDI file to start importing. Leave it at zero for the beginning of the file.
* How many bars to import: keep this at some high number to import the entire file. The default is 1000, which is plenty, since BIAB only support 255 bars anyway.
* # blank bars to insert at beginning: this one is tricky. If the MIDI file starts right away, then insert a "2" here, otherwise, it will start playing during the count-in. If your file has 2-bar count-in contained in the MIDI file, then enter "0", or "1" for a 1-bar count-in.
Just play with it and you'll get the hang of it.
Once all is done, you may need to go into the Sequencer option (the green button on the toolbar that says SEQ) and re-channel some of the instruments, so as not to interfere with your BIAB track channels.
Standard MIDI channels used by BIAB tracks are:
Bass - channel 2 Piano - channel 3 Drums - channel 10 Guitar - channel 6 Strings - channel 7 Melody - channel 4 Soloist - channel 8 Thru - channel 5
This gives you (assuming you are not using harmonies or separate guitar channels) channels 1, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 to use for other instruments. Remember, each of your parts will all be on the Melody TRACK (don't confuse channels with tracks). The Melody and Soloist tracks are special in that they can be multi-channel. The accompaniment tracks each only use one channel.
Hope that helped some.

Ooops, sorry, I was thinking BIAB...
Yep, in RealBand, you can use the "load scrap" command, select the MIDI file, and then do a single track paste.

Thanks ROG. Your suggestion will work great! Hi John. I was reading your first post and went back to check and see if had posted this que to the right forum . I'm working on a song that's actually a medley, but I'm separating the sections with drumm rather than wanting to use the medley feature in biab. I cannot seem to import the melodies in BIAB unless each section of the song is in it's own separate file. I know that I could have them all in RB if I rendered each to .wav, but I want to have the midi editing options available. Thanks for taking time for that long explanation. I guess I should have mentioned that I've imported hundreds of midi melodies into biab. Sorry. Stan

Nope; thought I was still in the BIAB forum (which I previously was), but obviously wasn't.
The "load scrap" command should work for you.

Try File > Import to load successive Midi files into a New file. The program will load them one after the other into successive tracks.
