Now that we can freeze tracks there seems to be no reason why we couldn't copy midi from a melody/soloist track to one of the five BiaB tracks. This would make converting midi covers to BiaB songs much easier in that we can have as many as seven tracks in total instead of two.

When converting a midi cover to BiaB song you usually need a least a couple of distinctive tracks over BiaB generated backing tracks to make the cover sound right. Unfortunately some covers require more than two tracks so they become really difficult to do. Sure, there are 16 tracks available in the melody/soloist but you can't apply VSTs to these. The track must be a single track.

So, if we could copy some midi to BiaB tracks and freeze them we'd have more single tracks to use. Seems a simple programming task to me, just implement 'copy from... to...' so it allows from melody/soloist to BiaB track. There could even be an automatic 'freeze track' applied since it must be frozen to be of any use.

The only potential problem would be if a user un-froze the track at a later date and hit play then they'd lose the midi data. However to make the loss permenant they'd need to save the song too so the risk isn't that great. It would be a small price to pay for the additional 'space'.

How do you guys feel about this idea? Is it worthy of going into the wishlist?
