I have often wondered what part of Ireland you are from.

Alyn, as they say in the pubs of Ireland: "I be two generations removed from the old sod!" T'was me wee dear granddad who left the Emerald Isle and settled in the Maritime Province of New Brunswick, Canada. Specifically, Moncton, NB where the Canadian Gaynors still live. I also have living cousins in the Province of Ontario.

As for where in Ireland my roots are, I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know. However, my Canadian cousin, Helen Gaynor-Mills, has written a book on my family which candidly names the scoundrels as well as the heroes. (a little heavy on the scoundrel side, unfortunately). The book goes back several generations so you have prompted me to ask her precisely where in Ireland my rootstock originated.

I'll email her now and ask, stay tuned.

My maternal grandparents are from Scotland and settled in NB also.
