Hi Pete,
What Dan means is that the first time you play the song after changes have been made, the tracks must be first unfrozen and the song must then be regenerated. If you want, after the regeneration you can freeze the tracks again. "Freezing" is literally telling BIAB that "under no circumstances whatsoever are my tracks to be changed. I like them exactly the way they are now." Adding new chords when a track is frozen does not override the freezing.
