Yes, I have been having the same problem... I thought I had solved it back in 2009, but was mistaken. It can be "fixed" temporarily as I posted then, and as you know, by deselecting monitor #2, but it reverts as soon as you reboot the system.

It needs fixing. You say it is a "bit of a nuisance." That's UK talk -- I would say "Pain in the a**."

It does help to use a nice free program called DisplayFusion, which is a little simpler workaround, but it is still a pain.
