Hi,

I have my MIDI routed to a VSTi and it works fine for playback of MIDI data in BiaB. However when I play notes on my MIDI keyboard I can't find out how to route that to the VSTi, it seems to go through the MS Wavetable synth which gives unacceptable latency.

I'm using a dumb MIDI keyboard linked to my Saffire Pro 14 soundcard. I don't think it should be something that's difficult to do but I just can't seem to find the correct setting for it.

Can anyone help please?

Hi John, thanks for the link!

This works for as long as I leave my VSTi synth window open. As soon as I close it the latency returns although it is still playing the correct instrument. I then have to go back to the audio settings and click OK, OK (without changing anything) and then it's fine again (until I close the VSTi window again).

Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks for your help!

Some VSTi will do that. Just minimize instead of closing.

Yeah thanks John, I found that out just after posting. Seems a little strange but oh well!

I also found that I got no sound during playback, unless I had the Wizard box ticked. I then discovered there's an option in 'Transpose' to 'Use Wizard for thru part' which was ticked. Maybe it's just me but some of these options seem to be in strange places, especially for a newbie!

I can't understand why that option is not overridden if you don't have the Wizard ticked on the main screen, instead of just giving no sound! I'm sure I'll get used to it all eventually but it is all very confusing.

Anyway, thanks for all your help, it's very much appreciated.
