Bluegrass in Band-in-a-Box is usually done as a 16th note based style. This is because bluegrass is usually played as a 16th note style (ie you tap your foot every 4 sixteenth notes, typically at a tempo around 120 for bluegrass). Bluegrass is **notated** in 8th notes in most music books, because they are entering it in 2/2 time, to avoid having to display 16th note rhythms if they wrote it in 4/4.

We have a discussion about that issue here. In this link, there is a discussion, and also a link to an 8th note based Bluegrass style that you can use if you prefer (note that it you use a 8th note style, you will now have really fast bluegrass tempos, like 260 (instead of 130)
