Ah if only I had that mixer I could have done it just as clear! I think Brallan's input should help you out more. I think it shows setup A, that I explained. If still in doubt or want to know more, I have made some tutorials that may help you further and/or give you more info visually.

I amkind of blurry to find other words. It is hard to know where you get stranded. This is why I am trying a different approach. I made you some tutorials which you could watch. Maybe a visual thing is easier to pick up. There are three tutorials I made.

3. Explains some trouble shooters.
