I'm a first-time user of BIAB 2013 (using Windows 7) and at the moment, trying to get to grips with the main functions. I'd appreciate any advice on a very basic point - I click the Style button and then select 'All Real Styles and MST Midi SuperTracks' then click a particular style - just to listen to how it sounds.
A message with yellow background appears to say that I don't have these particular styles, so can't use them. I didn't purchase any additional Style Paks with BIAB 2013 - so I have those already included and a bonus Pak. So, I understand that there will be many styles which I won't be able to use without buying extra Paks. However, are the 'All Real Styles and MST Midi SuperTracks' which appear on my screen the complete list if someone has bought every Pak available - and, if so, how can I easily identify those which I can access? OR if the list only shows those which I can use i.e. without having purchased any extras - I presumably should be able to use any of them and ren't doing something I should to do this.
It's very likely that, as a newbie, I'm not doing something obvious here but would appreciate any advice on the above.

Hi Peter, What version of BIAB 2013 did you buy (e.g. ProPak, UltraPlusPak, MegaPak, etc)? The reason I ask is because the UltraPlusPak is the first of the packages that has all Realtracks and Midi SuperTracks. To see what you have, go to the OPT menu and select "What addons do I have?"  A dialogue box will then pop up that lists all you have and don't have.  Regards, Noel

Actually I was about to post a question about MIDI Super tracks but this is related so I'll mention it here.
The "what add-ons do I have" does NOT show any MIDI Supertracks, there is no category for these anywhere that I can see. The utility also does not list of the Bonus (unreleased) Real Tracks either (sets 200, 201, 202) but it DOES show "Bonus" style sets that are not typically in any Ultra/Everything/Mega paks - but at one point in time "long ago" they were part of a 12, or 16, or 25 pak add-on.
Also the Super MIDI tracks are described, and now sold, by Set Numbers. However, within BIAB they are NOT listed by their "Set" numbers like RT's are in the RT picker dialog. SMT's are listed by a noncontiguous sequence of numbers starting at 1796 and ending at 2108, albeit with alpha descriptors (e.g., 1893: Piano, Rhythm Bossa Ev 085; 1901: Synth Pad,…) Even the Memo field doesn't indicate which "set" a track comes from.
Right now this is just an observation

Styles Disks : 0 (Built-in) ,1 ,2 ,3 ,7 (Country) ,16 (Blues) ,21 , Band-in-a-Box with RealBand 2013 for Windows. Band-in-a-Box Pro comes with a basic 'starter' set of 42,44,46,48,50,61,62 ,63,70,77
The "What addons do I have?" section which you suggested showed the same items as above and: Soloist Disk Sets : 1 (Basic); RealDrums sets in C:\bb\Drums\ : 1- Rock and Jazz
When I click on the Real Tracks Picker button, it shows only 74 different Real Tracks – these remain the same whether I click on the ‘Tracks not available to me’ button or not – so I’m confused about that; also, the – the ad for 2013 says it has 101 MORE Real Tracks – presumably in addition to those on previous releases – so I’m puzzled as to how many should be on my disk – 101+bonus tracks only or 101 plus all previous Real Tracks issues as standard – except of course, those which require additional purchases of Paks.
I realise that I probably have missed something really basic in all this but any comments from anyone on how I can find out which Real Tracks are available to me will be very much appreciated.

Hi Peter, If you go to the following link ... http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.pro.htm... this lists what you have in your version. The blue text is hyperlinked so if you click on it, it will give you more information. If you click on "Pro RealCombos", you will be taken to a list of all the Realtracks in the ProPak. BIAB 2013 does indeed have 101 new Realtracks (compared to version 2012.5) but the first package that has all the new Realtracks is the UltraPlusPak. The more economical packages only have a selection of the new tracks. For what it's worth, if you were thinking of upgrading to (say) the UltraPlusPak, PG Music would look after you. Hi,
First off, the styles that you get with a certain pack normally just contain the styles where you also have the Realtracks, so I wouldn't expect that more than 5% of the styles that you see need RealTracks that are N/A. If there are more, then perhaps some update/patch has included more styles than it should have. As noted, the styles aren't any use if you don't have the RealTracks.
If a style is MIDI, then it will always play, so this issue would only apply to styles that need RealTracks (ie they begin with _ or =) or MIDI SuperTracks (stylename begins with M_ ).
If looking for RealStyles, and you want to only see RealStyles that you have all of the RealTracks for, you should:
1. Use the Band Button (on the main screen), it will only list RealStyles (no MIDI, just styles that are all RealTracks), and it only lists styles that you have all the RealTracks for.
or
2. Use the StylePicker, and there is an entry in the NA column if a style is missing RealTracks. So you know that something is missing, and then you can look at the style memo (at the right of the stylepicker) for details on what is missing.
or
3. Use StylePicker, press Filter and set "Show Style with missing Realtracks" to false, and then you won't see the ones that aren't containing all of the RealTracks.
