Well, we're narrowing it down

As an experiment ...

1. Record some audio using BIAB.

2. Save the project (say something like "test.mgu").

3. Open the audio wav file (test.wav) in Sonar or Realband and normalize it. This will help confirm that there is indeed no audio data being written.

Something that caught me very early on with recording was that there was actually audio data present but it was so quiet that it could neither be seen nor heard in a DAW. Once I normalized it, it was obvious the recording was present.

If the track is silent once it's been normalized, then BIAB has certainly not recorded anything. That helps isolate the problem even more.

Also, have you tried recording with MME rather than to see if it makes a difference? (Latency will be annoying but at least it identifies something else that does or doesn't work.)
