I have a new PC and I have a SSD drive in it (drive C). I also have a 1 terabyte hard drive (drive E). When I installed BIAB (old version) to it I installed it to the SSD drive which was a mistake. I should have put it on the E drive. Now I bought the 2013 version and I ordered the USB hard disk. I wanted to install BIAB and Real Band to the hard drive. What happened was that the setup process started to install the files to the C drive where BIAB already was. And there wasn't enough space in it and I got an error message. After that I aborted the setup. Then I realised that I should have installed the BIAB to the drive E in the first place. Now when I start the BIAB uninstall program I get the message "Cannot find utCompiled code record for this version on the uninstaller". It refuses to uninstall.

What should I do next?

My first thought would be to forget uninstall and simply delete instead and then reinstall the way you want. However, this will remove all the old version of BIAB. So you have to be aware of that.

Hi Matti,

I'm agree with Dan. There's no need to use uninstall, simply delete the folder from your SSD. Alternatively, if you want to keep the installation of your older version, you could copy the folders (c:\bb and c:\Realband) to your E: drive and then delete those folders from the C: drive. When your USB drive arrives, it's a simple matter of then installing BIAB and RB over the older versions on the drive E. (If you've downloaded the installation files for 2013, simply install them to the E: drive.)

Hope this helps,
Noel

Thank you both. Maybe I should remove the old BIAB through Control Panel? If that works.

My first message was probably confusing. I already have the 2013 version on a hard disk. I tried to install it but the space on the SSD disk was too small. After that I realized what I had done wrongly.

I have all my own files saved in another external disk so I can easily delete all BIAB files. But maybe I copy them to this E drive. I will try that tomorrow.

Matti,

When BIAB and Realband are installed, the installation is fully self-contained in the folders \bb and \Realband. With the exception of a couple of files (like fonts - which will be used when you install to E anyway), nothing is written to any Windows directories. This means that when you delete the folder, you delete the program. So if Control Panel doesn't work, just delete it.

The reason that 'uninstall' is usually advised is because programs often write to a number of Windows directories and, unless you know these directories, it's impossible to do a clean uninstall. This is not the case with BIAB/RB.

Regards,
Noel

OK. Thanks.
- I copied BB folder from drive C to drive E
- After that I deleted BB folder from drive C
- The I installed BIAB from the external disk to drive E with no problem

Yesterday when BIAB installation collapsed it did install HI-q instruments and Sample Tank. It seems that they are on drice C in Program Files. Now I tried to install them to the drive E but installation stucked. I tried to change the folder to E but this is what is says:
"You must enter a full path with drive letter f. ex C/APPS or a UNC path in the form: \\server\share"

What should I do?

I will delete the stuff from drive C after I get things completed.

I already got an answer to this from the PG chat-service. Sample Tank and HiQ must be on the drive C.
