Hi all.
My strings part is a background harmonica (RT). I only want it to play on certain parts of the song e.g., bars 1-16 and other bar ranges.
I tried deleteing the notes from the piano roll but no dice - It was a long shot anyhow as it's a realtrack and I get the idea that they aren't editable like that.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to where / how do I set this.

Merry Christmas, and welcome to the community! It's good to have you aboard. As others have said, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. If you use BIAB much you'll have more, so we'll expect to see more of you.
Check out the section in the manual on Shots, Holds, and Rests. It will not only tell you how to do what you ask but give you some exciting ideas on how to bring new dynamics to your arrangements as well.

Hi Mike, There's no such thing as a dumb question if you don't know the answer to it. Rest assured that others will find it useful that you've asked  One way to achieve what you are after is ... ... left-click your mouse on the bar that's the first bar of the section you want to be silent, press F5 (or right click and choose "Bar Settings"), and then set the Strings track to "Mute" from the dropdown menu. To reactivate the track, click on the first bar of the section you want to have the sound play, press F5 and choose "Back to normal". Regards, Noel

I've found one of the best ways to experiment with shots, pushes holds and other wee tricks biab holds is to set up 8 bars or so with just one or two real tracks loaded rather than a full song. Cuts down on the loading time and helps you concentrate on the arranging rather than the song. Once you're happy THEN load a full song.

Under bar settings try muting a certain instruments for a range of bars. You can mute as many instruments as desired.
