I've played with it some. I haven't been able to get all the drivers yet for my HP laptop, but my HP desktop seems to work okay, so far. If you do the upgrade, I highly recommend getting the StarDock Start8 Utility. It gives you back your Start Button and makes Win8 more like Win7. It's only $5.

I also recommend running the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. It will tell you which applications are compatible and which hardware devices are compatible with Windows 8.

My understanding is (and experience so far) is that it works mostly like Win7 and many Win7 drivers will work with Win8 (but not all).

I'll be playing some more with my laptop this weekend to see how it does (I installed Win8 to a different hard drive and just swap out the drives between Win7 and Win8 until I decide which way to go for sure right now).
