Are the versions of Sampletank and Amplitube that come with BIAB 2013 Ultrapak the newest versions?
I saw version numbers on the IK Multimedia site that looked like they might be newer.
I tried to look at "About" in both currently installed (BIAB 2013) versions, to see if they were the same as the new versions listed on the IK web site. But I could not find "About" on either product.
Anyone know?

in sample tank select the small "i" in upper left hand area it changes pic to "back of rack unit" and displays version bottom right hand side should be 2.5.5

While we are on the subject of sampletank I wonder has anyone bought the larger version with over 6gb of sounds Sampletank XL and if you use it atall in biab or realband?

Well, Musiclover, not really a similar question at all, regardless of the fact that both are about SampleTank. Probably better to be in a separate thread. (By the way, this thread is also about AmpliTube. For instance, I will guess that almost every thread in this forum is about BIAB. What if they were all put into one thread, due to all being about BIAB? Makes more sense separately.b Larry thanks for the info on where to find the version number of Sampletank. They sure make it hard to find. The IK web site lists the newest SampleTank version as 2.5.5b The newest AmpliTube listed there is 3.9.1 . Are those not newer than those coming with BIAB 2013 ultra? sample tank and amplitube program newest version is free for download(only need register). only the sounds or effects need extra buy(free version include very few), but of course you can use that you get with Biab. I dont know which sounds in BiaB are add to 2013 release. I know there is a sample tank Expansion called Omnisynth 2. It is GM. It cost around 30$ if sold seperate.
I think biab 2013 very intresting, because the Demos sound much better and i hear that Omnisynth 2 in the GM demos on youtube sound really great.
If the new midi syles support sample sample tank sounds, i think is a very good idea.
Only what is not clear for me, if the biab sample tank sound library is GM Omnisynth 2. does somebody know this ?

Thanks for reply Maiki. Well I had downloaded an older version 2.0 of sampletank a while ago and saved it with the sounds to dvd as quite a big download. I have installed it and it works well with biab 2012. I have also installed the latest version and so far can see no difference in performance, both worked fine with omnsymth 2. Omnsymth 2 can be picked up for $10 and works well with biab, deal of the year. musiclover

The Amplitube 3.9.1 is newer than the version left by my (build 265) BB. I over–installed the 3.9.1. No adverse consequence. Have not tried to upgrade BB’s ST install (except to get the Omnisynth 2 deal). Not at desktop so not sure if there's later version of ST Free than what came with BB2013. If a free upgrade is available, it should be in our IKM accounts. HTH —Ron
