there's actually 2 issues here but since they both involve loading RealTracks, i hope it's OK to include them in the same post. 1. when i try to load a 685 harmonica RealTrack in to the melody trk of my song, it doesn't play with the rest of the tracks whenever i PB the song. i've included a jing video to show exactly what i'm doing to load the RealTrack into the song. http://screencast.com/t/BEQeBz5lw7X2. i've found some really hot harmonica licks in the RealTracks folder that i'd like to use in another song but can't figure out how to load them in my song, since there's no "assign to track" link to click on. Hi,
You have the Melody frozen so although it shows you have loaded the realtrack it just won't generate it.
If you click on the big Freeze button (on the main screen) you can unfreeze the melody track and it should work then.
This should answer 1 and 2.
If you right click on the for example the melody button on the main screen you will get menu items that you should explore.

many tks george for the helpful reply on #1. I just didn't notice the melody was frozen.
about #2 - following the path G:\bb\RealTracks\Harmonica, Background Blues Roadhouse - if i open the folder:
Harmonica, Background Blues Roadhouse, there are at least 20+ RealTracks files. my prob is that i can't figure
out how to load these into my song. when i open RealTrack settings and click "assign to track", i don't have
any way (that i know of) to get the RealTrack file har091.bt0 loaded into my song.
is there a way( other than RealTrack settings > assign to track) to get one of these files loaded in to my
song ?
you did great on #1 and i just thought you may know the answer on this one too. Again, tks 4 help on #1

pls excuse duplicate reply- not quite sure how that happened.
oh, i did try rt clicking on the melody button but didn't see anything in the context menu that might help.
what were you referring to ?

You can't load the RealTrack like you show in the video (2nd part)
Here's how:
Right click on the track (lets say melody)
Choose Add/Remove RealTracks
When the realtracks screen opens there is a filter (bottom Left)
Type in harmonica then click on the Update button
You should see harmonica (notice you will also see the other RealTracks that are in your Style, if any)
Select the one you want
then, either select the close button (in which case when you return to the main screen you will have to regenerate the song)
or, Click on Generate Track.
Remeber if you have Freeze tracks on it won't work. Unfreeze them 1st.
Now I am assuming that you have the latest version, if not then I can't remember how the previous version worked (senior moment(s))
Have a look in the help file (PDF) and search for RealTracks.

it helps very much- you may be trying to tell me i'm trying to get the software to do
something it's not programmed to do ( in other words "beating a dead horse" ) In your
statement :" You can't load the RealTrack like you show in the video (2nd part)", i think
i may be beginning to understand. after selecting a harmonica filter and clicking update,
there's just a few, maybe 8-10, RealTracks in the window. i'm thinking - BIAB already knows the style i'm using and it knows what RealTracks aare compatible with what styles and
thats the reason there's only a few in the window that pops up after you click update. to
expand on this further, i'm thinking that to use a certain RealTrack that's not in the win-
dow, i would have to experiment with different styles(that would work with my song) until i
find one that's compatible with the RealTrack i want to use.
this is only my newbie understanding of RealTracks and i may be totally off base. At least
now i know i can't use these RealTrack files (oh that harp just cried the blues) until i
find a style that its compatible with. I can quit beating the dead horse and for that i

Hi,
I think that the files you see (in your 2nd video) are files that are used when you select one of the harmonica RealTracks (from the filter) i.e.
It may use 2 or three (or perhaps more) files from the selected harmonica folder to work out which to use for your song.
So if the harmonica isn't to your liking just regenerate it and it will choose different files which may have that sweet one your looking for.

Just click on Gen/Play (version 2013) or Play (version 2012.5 or earlier)
Any track not frozen will be regenerated.

i have ver 2011. when you say click on Play - do you mean the play button in the upper rt
corner of the Assign RealTracks to Track page or the green play button on the BIAB page ?
