I figured that on your side of the ocean energy will become more and more less cheap. (In this case "frugal" would not work.) That's why I regard energy consumption as a part of cost of ownership. Maybe the more expensive equipment might be the financially more efficient equipment after all.

To put it short: Any piece of equipment that is used an hour a day has to be regarded differently than a piece of equipment that is used eight to ten hours a day.

And I second your way of shopping. I also tend to buy the showroom piece to save a couple of currency units -- but I never forget to look at future expenses caused by this very piece.


And to state: I always look carefully into your recommendations of equipment. In any case your reasoning has not been unreasonable according to my understanding. I even saved some for later use. Kudos to you.
