Years ago I was one of the sound techs in the Skyline Pavillion(click Entertainment and half way down) in Butlins Minehead when it first opened and it was like playing/mixing in a cave, yet Bands were made to play there, but not now. And some still wanted more reverb on their vocals. But I'd imagine that was no where near as bad as playing in the aircraft hanger.
