.rar is a file compression scheme like .zip.

You can do a websearch to find programs that will open them up if doubleclicking on the icon does nothing with your OS installation.

Performing the .rar to full file operation does not install the files, it just uncompresses them to whatever is inside the whole folder. From there you should see filenames and perhaps a readme file. Good idea to check the readme file before proceeding, for they typically contain directions.

THANKS! SORRY...I recalled having to extract .rar files just after I posted my comment then had to run out to a gig. I have DL'd, extracted and played most of the files and they are some pretty cool Django tunes.

BUT...when trying to play them through Coyote Forte DXI, all I get is drum sounds.

And I get no sound at all in some but not all BIAB files that shipped with 2013 such as Swingin' Piano Solo...and others. But LOTS of other files play fine such as the Artist Performance Sets for example.

To get sound on the Django files...and Swingin' Piano Solo files, I need to uncheck "Use VST/DXI" and select Microsoft Wave Table for midi output which is the only midi output driver that appears even after running Driver Wizard.

Not sure exactly what sound card I have on this new Dell running Win 7. But Device Manager refers to it as AMD High Definition Audio Device.

Which particular bit of stupidity am I engaging in this time????

(-:

THANKS!

Jim
