Hey Jim,

Glad to hear that "progress" word

Since Coyote Forte doesn't come with BIAB, I assume that you have purchased a copy. If that's the case ...

1. Click on the VSTi icon. If it's not visible, click on the >> sign to the right of the yellow cross below.

2. Go through each of the tracks - Bass, Piano, Guitar, etc. - and double-check that they're set to "none".

3. Click on the "Default Synth" button at the bottom of the window (1), click on the drop-down menu (2) and, from the list that pops up, select "Coyote Forte" (I don't have Coyote Forte so I can't show you this one. In the below image, I'm showing how to select either Coyote WT (3) or VSC/DXi (4) soft synths as a default. The principle is the same with Coyote Forte.)

Hope this does the job for you!
Noel

MORE Progress.

Your question as to whether I own Coyote Forte was a great clue. I DID purchase it re: an earlier installation.

Before going any further, do you know whether the Forte synth program can be copied to a new version of BIAB or would I have to purchase it again for it to work on a new version? If the latter, then that is the issue...i.e. Forte simply won't run on the new BIAB version...and I will be happy to buy another license.

If, on the contrary, Forte CAN be moved to a new BIAB version then I still have issues.

I now notice on my 10.5 installation that the Coyote folder was on the root drive and not in the BB folder. I moved it to BB but before doing so I hit the DXI/Synth button which brought up the VST/DirctX menu with the top Edit button selected and "None" in the adjacent pull down menu.

When I click on that menu, my only choices are Coyote WT and Add VSTiPlugin.

Please note that in the Coyote folder there is no "installation" option.

Also, moving the Coyote folder into BB made no difference.

Sorry for all the random tidbits...I'm just trying to give you as much information as I can.

Bottom line...where I stand now is that...

1. I DO get sound.
2. I have Use VST/DXT checked.
3. In the VST/DirectX window my only choice is CoyoteWT.

I can only assume that Forte is a higher quality softsnyth than Coyote WT so I would like to get Forte to work.

If memory serves, I purchased Forte PRIOR to my 10.5 installation. And when launching 10.5 I see that I was using Coyote WT and NOT forte so all this time I assumed I was hearing Forte output but apparently not.

Too funny!

FINALLY, I'm running EverythingPak. Do I assume correctly that Forte IS NOT included as part of that Pak and that I would have to buy it?

THANKS!!!

Jim
