Drivers? Permissions? This could be a lot of things. I use BIAB 2013 and SONAR X2, so it can work.
To help you, we need to know much more:
What version of BIAB?
What version of Windows?
Are you running the various .EXE files As Administrator?
What is your sound card? Do you have a current ASIO driver for it?
What are the settings for output in BIAB? Are you using DXi and if so, which?
Taking a quick guess, you probably have ASIO set in both BIAB and SONAR. Try the MME setting in BIAB and report back if that works.
If you find any settings talking about exclusive use of ASIO, set them so it can share.

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
