Believe it or not I was able to play midi through both soft and hardware synths together at the same time tonight. I wrote a prototype VSTi designed to accept midi data from the host (BiaB) and redirect it to my Saffire 6 USB midi port and from there to my Ketron SD2. Talk about cool. That means I can use my VoiceWorks Plus as well.

There are a couple of issues to be aware of. BiaB holds open a midi port even when you are using soft synths so you must select a different port under midi options. You must also be able to monitor at some point where that the audio is available, in my case a hardware mixer. Also latency would be an issue if re-directed to another soft synth but then there's no real reason to do that.

So, while there's still a lot of programming to do before I'll release it as freeware it does work.

Anyone interested in helping me test this VSTi? If so send me a pm with your e-mail and I'll forward a copy of the VSTi when it's ready for further testing.
