I thought I'll share the change in my studio after getting my new M-Audio Fasttrack C600.

Before this I used an M-Audio Audiophile USB and had a convoluted setup with two mixers and a myriad of cables to allow mixed monitoring etc. Maybe not how it should have been done but it worked. When you wanted to change the instrument/mic that you wanted to record the process resembled one of those old telephone exchanges as I would unplug switch cables and then getting the input levels acceptable again took some doing.

On Sunday I re-looked at the functionality of my new audio interface and had an epiphany!

I stripped my setup and connected only the C600. I now have two redundant mixers and can retire the M-Audio Audiophile as I realised that BIAB can also use the new box.

I can now actually see my desk and the clutter is gone. In addition the fact that I can select the channel/port I want to record IN REALBAND now means that I do not have to switch cables anymore.
Everything is now just more simple and the recordings seems to be in a different league now....

Here are two views of my litle studio for thos who is interested ....
