The hard disk itself is most likely ok. It sounds like a new enclosure and USB cable would fix the problem. Please contact sales@pgmusic.com and request that. Refer to this forum post. (don't return the disk) In the mean-time, try plugging the drive directly into the back of the computer, using two USB ports there - if you have two pairs of USB ports, use one port from each pair. This should provide enough power for it.
