Annoying issue with Hi-Q tracks, well actually just one. Even when first opening BIAB I keep getting a little yellow pop-up that says:
"D:\music\bb\DX Settings\Hi-Q 001 01 Piano, Acoustic Mellow Grand sampeltank.tgs does not exist, cannot install to track: Drums"
1- Duh? This is new behavior (I've been playing with and around with multiple VSTis in last day and this is recent so I figured it was something I set or configured badly. So next I,
2- confirmed that the file does exist and where it's looking for it (I've double checked spelling, spacing, etc.) and I can SELECT in the a Hi-Q selections in Mixer, and elsewhere it LOADS and plays fine.
3. I've not only done a reset to factory settings (all), I've also reinstalled the HI-Q instruments, AND the complete BIAB 2013 install file (before latest update -366 build ) but same issue.
Again it is more annoying than anything else but it IS annoying! When I start BIAB or try to load a song (like some of the Demos) that have a HI-q or super MIDI piano tracks.
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance
Update: re-checking my re-check the "…Mellow Grand...tgs" is really and ONLY "Hi-Q 001 02…" (not Hi-Q 001 01). So not sure if somehow I lost variation 1 (assuming there is a variation 1 of Mellow Grand) or what. Why is BIAB all of sudden looking for a non-existent Piano Hi_Q instrument? And worse why is it trying to assign it to "drums"
Still looking suggestions/help/confirmation?

Never mind it is a minor glitch in some DEMO songs for a few styles
e.g., Jazz Latin styles
M_BOLERO.STY and the songs are "Bolero Quintet with Piano [90]" and "MelodicBoleroQuintet w.Piano[90]"
M_GRACHA.STY and song Guaracha Quartet w. Piano [180]
And on the FLIP side (different non-existent HI-Q piano) in Jazz Ballads
M_SJZBAL.STY. SmoothJazzBallad with Piano [65]
Is trying to load the non-existent:
"D:\music\bb\DX Settings\Hi-Q 001 02 Piano, Acoustic Grand sampeltank.tgs does not exist, cannot install to track: Drums"
It should be looking for " Hi-Q 001 01 Piano, Acoustic…"
And I am sure a few others but I'm not going on fishing expiation to find them all. In any case if I close BIAB with those loaded when I re-start BIAB it complains about non-exsitnat (typo'ed in Demo song) HI-Q instrument
So some of these Demo songs need to fix what HI-Q they want to load (again just an annoyance - doesn't cause world or program to stop)
If someone wants to confirm (at least with those songs) to ensure my morphine and Vicodin aren't causing the issue I'd appreciate it

Hi Larry,
What is the date of the file M_BOLERO.STY in your bb folder? I suspect you need to download the update patch... In my testing those files don't have the problem you describe.
Edit: I think we found what the problem is (with styles in MIDI SuperTracks Set 6) and we'll fix that in the next patch.

I get a lot wrong but nice to know I'm not a total flake (altough I am total A.H.)

Hi, New to BIAB 2013 here. I last had Version 2006, and used it alot to set up arrangements for big band. I never really got excited about it until a friend of mine sent me a track using RealTracks. Wow - Now you're talking!!
Anyway, I am having issues with the Hi-Q feature and Sampletank 2.5 free version. I'm about ready to write it off. Sampletank Support gave me a standard answer and closed the ticket. PG is still open but unable to resolve it yet. I thought I would toss it out here and see if anyone else has had this problem....
Regarding Sampletank 2.5: once installed, I get the following yellow boxed error message when trying to select a Hi-Q instrument:
"Solution is to move Band-in-a-Box instrument folder from here: C:/Program Files\IK multimedia/Sampletank2.5\Instruments\Band-in-a-Box\ To here: C:/Program Files\IK multimedia/Sampletank2.5\Instruments\Band-in-a-Box\\Band-in-a-Box\"
Oh yes, and of course I get the "Hi-Q instrumentS not found" as well. And I did experiment with adding another subfile named Band-in-a-Box, but that didn't work either.
I've downloaded updates, reinstalled, moved files around, checked all over the internet... but not luck so far.
Any ideas?
(Intel dual core, 2 gig of memory, 250 g. hard drive, XP Pro, BIAB 2013 with Mega Pak.)
Thanks for looking. Anyway, I LOVE BIAB 2013, in spite of this. :-D

Hi CJ, Welcome to the forums It sounds like the folder containing your BIAB instruments is not in the usual place. If this is the case, then to solve the problem it's: (a) necessary to find the folder's path; (b) double-check that it's the correct folder; (c) set the path in SampleTank. 1. Below is the path where my Band-In-A-Box folder (#2) is located (#1). As you can see it's "C:\Program Files\IK Multmedia\Instruments". For your installation, it may well be that the folder could be in "C:\Program Files\IK Multmedia\SampleTank 2.5\Instruments" or else where. It should be under IK Multimedia somewhere. 2. When you find the Band-In-A-Box folder, double-click on it to open it. There should the below collection of sub-folders (#1). To confirm that these are the correct folders PG Music installed, double-click on the Bass sub-folder and you should see the instrument files for the Bass sounds (#2). 3. When you find the correct Band-In-A-Box folder, copy it and its sub-folders to the ...\Instrument folder that contains the other SampleTank sounds (if it's not already there). 4. Make a note of the path for the Instrument folder. 5. Open Band In A Box. 6. Click the VSTi button to open the window for assigning softsynths 7. Select "Default Synth" (#1), click on the drop-down menu (#2) and select "SampleTank 2.x" (#3). SampleTank will probably take 10 - 20 seconds to load. If your loaded SampleTank is red, whereas mine is green, don't worry about that as it's purely cosmetic. 8. When SampleTank has loaded, select "Prefs" (#1), click on "Browse" (#2) and then navigate to the folder where the "Band-In-A-Box" folder is located (#3) and then click OK. Note: Do not accidentally select the Band-In-A-Box sub-folder; it's the folder that contains the Band-In-A-Box sub-folder that must be selected. (That's why my path stops at "Instruments".) 9. When that is done, reset the "Default Synth" to Coyote WT (or VSC/DXi if you have a 32 bit operating system) by following step #7 above but selecting "Coyote WT" for step #3 rather than "SampleTank 2.x". 10. Close the VSTi setup window. The Hi-Q sounds should be good to go now. Let us know how it turns out. All the best, Noel

Hi Noel, Thanks so much for the quick turnaround. Your directions were letter perfect and easy to follow. Of course I had done all that, (I thought), and so without a great deal of expectation, I decided to CAREFULLY follow your instructions. Guess what? I had messed up things so that I never would have figured it out without your help. IT WORKS! Of course I am still getting some strange error messages depending on how I select a Hi-Q instrument. ...but As long as it is working, I'll figure out the source of the problems. Are you a tech support guy by any chance? If not, you probably should be. Thanks again. Jazz jazzman1315@yahoo.ocm
