...I've read in the manual that recorded mixer moves are saved as midi events. I recorded a fade-out using the "all tracks" fader in the mixer, but now would like to undo the fade and do it the way you guys explained. Can I edit the midi events to eliminate the fade? I tried deleting events after the fade started, but no change. I am also finding it very difficult to discern exactly which events correspond to the actual fade,---they are all labeled as note events. Can anyone throw me a life-preserver on this one? Thanks.....

They shouldn't be labeled as note events, they should be controller events (either #7 or #11)
Use Cut (with data filter) to remove the controller events.
If they are indeed velocity changes ( as note events) you may be better off opening a backup copy of file (File-Open Backup). This may get you back to point 'A' quicker than dealing with the nore level edits.
