They shouldn't be labeled as note events, they should be controller events (either #7 or #11)

Use Cut (with data filter) to remove the controller events.
If they are indeed velocity changes ( as note events) you may be better off opening a backup copy of file (File-Open Backup). This may get you back to point 'A' quicker than dealing with the nore level edits.
