And Roger, absolutely... Tim Hardin. D-Tuning, that's what he was known for, and that's exactly how this song started -- you can hear it in the opening riff. I loved Tim, who died long before his time. "If I were a Carpenter" is, IMO, maybe the best D-tuning song I know (Steve Stills notwithstanding)... endless possibilities. And "Reason to Believe" still gives me the shivers.
