This is the main reason most of us wind up keeping Biab GM. If you're going to do that Fred, I would keep two versions of your songs, one with the new patches for your synth and one as default GM. Imagine you wind up saving hundreds or even thousands of songs with all those patches over the next several years and then your keyboard craps out and you get a Korg. Everything's different. Or, you get a killer GM synth like the SD2 and no longer need to do custom patches. If you kept a copy of those songs as GM, you're good to go.
