Hi Guys & Gals

Been using BIAB for some years now and i'm currently on a quest to see if the program can produce a big band score in a 5444 format. For anybody that does'nt know thats 5 saxophones, 4 trombones and 4 trumpets + bass, guitar and drums.
So first off the program will, if a certain big band style is selected (EG: basie style), produce a line of 5 saxophones notation + bass, guitar and drums

This still leaves the trombones and trumpets and the need for the correct transposition and printout of the individual parts.

So i have for example entered all the chords for a given AABA arrangement, in the basie style and got my saxophone + bass, guitar and drums.

I then sing along with the song and record on the melody track with a keyboard the general trumpet melody arrangement and pick a four part harmony from the harmony section. This is then copied to the soloist track.
I do the same with the trombone part on the melody track and pick a four part trombone harmony essentially creating the 13 brass parts needed.\\

Ok so this arrangement is not going to worry the Nelson Riddle fans among you but its a start. Only i cannot seem to find how to print the parts out or view them individually and i am not sure how to transpose them into the relevant keys (EG:a tone up for the trumpets & tenor saxes, a minor third down for the altos & baritones and no change for the trombones?

Is the Garriton software the answer or is there a great Big Band arranger package available?

Yours
