As one of the most prolific and one of the most knowledgeable posters (Mac) said, yes you can make MIDI styles but not RealTrack styles from scratch.

I've done quite a few since 1992 and put them up for sale on my website.

It takes a little time to learn the ins and outs of the StyleMaker app, but it is worth the effort. It helps to have some music theory and arranging in your brain, or be willing to learn as you go along. It helps to have some multi-instrument experience too, but with a good set of ears it isn't necessary.

Start out with something simple that you are familiar with, so you can spend most of your time learning the StyleMaker. It isn't by any means difficult, but there are a lot of options that you can use to make the music better, so it takes a little time to get acquainted with them.

It's rewarding and well worth it though.
