I have a multi-timbrel file that I that I need to shift a full octave (or more) higher. I do not need to preserve the timing.

When I ran CoolEdit Pro way-back-when, this was a simple matter of telling the editor the file was recorded at a slower sample rate then it actually was and changing the sample rate of playback.

I cannot find the same function in BIAB/RB, Sonar, or Audacity. They all have excellent pitch shifting, but all introduce artifacts when shifting +1 octave.

Anyone know of any way to do this using the tools listed above? I am also amenable to a different open-source editor that would achieve the same results.
