Hi everybody,

there's a problem here with BIAB, or better, with the audio of every software, when BIAB is open.

For instance, with BIAB open, it's impossible to listen to the audio of a you tube video, or of an audio file played by windows media player and so on.

It's like BIAB doesn't allow the use of the sound card by any other software...in fact closing BIAB and then re-opening Youtube, or WMP, no problem the audio is OK.

Where is the problem? Any solution? If I remember well, this problem was NOT there with the previous releases of BIAB...

If it may be of interest: Windows XP SP3, BIAB 2013, Aureon Universe 7 sound card.

Thanks!
Alfredo

Did you select ASIO as the audio output driver in BIAB? If so, try MME.

Thanks Matt.

If I try with MME, opening a BIAB file I receive the following message:

"Couldn't open the wave device.
The likely cause is that another program is using the audio playback, or has left the drivers open."

Hi Alfredo,

What driver are you using with BIAB? I've used the MME driver since version 2006 and have never had any problem (I currently run 2013).

Is it possible for you to post and image of your MIDI/Audio setup found under "Opt | Preferences | MIDI Driver"? Below is my setup.

THIS LINK will take you to an article on how to post images if you are not sure how to do it.

Kind regards,
Noel

The exact same thing happened to me many, many years ago.

I forgot the exact solution.

But it had something to do with which "devices" were being used for input or output.

Let me think back later tonight.

Thanks Noel,

here is my audio options:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3084497/PGMusic/BIAB%20audio%20options.jpg

The problem is that: if I use MME, I have ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND FORM BIAB; so I'm forced to use ASIO: this way the sound from BIAB is OK, but with BIAB open, no sound at all from the rest of the PC.

I've also tried to download and use ASIOforAll, connected to the sound card onboard the PC (a very common Realtek), instead of the AUREON (the audio card I always use for EVERYTHING): no sound from BIAB.

So, in conclusion, the only way I can hear something from BIAB is: ASIO for AUREON. This way, though, no sound from anything else of the PC.
And this is something new, since I recall exactly that until one year ago or so I used to check out the chords on BIAB files (for covers) while listening to the original song as wav file or YouTube video...

Thanks everybody for the support...

Alfredo

Opps, I just read some of the older tread. I thought your problem was no BIAB sound, but I see that is apparently not the issues. So never mind.
