What happens in my case is that the power adapter gets really hot (hot enough to cook on) and the mouse freezes up and starts not working. i replaced it once already thinking it was the power adapter. but that wasnt the case. The new adapter is doing the same thing. the keyboard gets hot too. I had a guy take it all apart once and clean out all of the fans. That was about 100 dollars. That helped a little bit but didnt solve the problem. I can have a new heat sink (i think thats what its called ) for 400 dollars and about 100 dollar installation fee...That (might) fix the problem. And will for sure cost 500.00 or more. It is a three year old machine...So possible not un fixable but will probably cost more than to replace it. I use my laptop for my backing tracks during gigs and it is real important to me to be professional and not standing up on stage messing with my overheating computer:)...I was reading a lot of blog posts from people who own the same machine and overheating is a common thing with this model. If there was a way for me to have it fixed and know for sure it was fixed Id do it. Im really happy with the features on the computer.
