I've encountered the same thing using both IE and chrome.
The cursor will sometimes freeze and the only way to get out of it is backwards.
As a general rule, if my post is gonna be more than a sentence or two long, ... I use Word to write it and then copy and paste.
There is a problem with the PG text function.
