Kevin, read the actual reviews of the plugin, not the ratings and you'll see they basically agree with my assessment that a decent soundfont with a soundfont player will sound much better than MDA piano.
Also check the latest review date - about 5 years ago was the latest. Now, for plugins that are that old, but still are 'hot', you'll see much more recent reviews.
I was on a freeware piano quest several years ago and the Warren Trachtman soundfont with sfz or with a Creative soundfont synth is loads better than MDA. MDA has a synthetic sound to it, which is what it will sound like - it's a physically modeled piano rather than a sample-playback piano.
Pianoteq is a much more sophisticated physical model synth, but you pay the price for it.
