Hello,
I am using normally the Ketron SD2 together with an interface Line6 for playing the guitar... The SD2 sounds the midi instruments, of course.
Now, I have received "Sample Tank" with BiB 2013 and I like it too...
Problem: both do not work together... (or at least I dont know why...) Either I use the SD2 for all instruments, and if I want to add a plug-in from the mixer it does not work (no sound on the chosen track), or I check in Opt/Midi "use VST/DXI" then it works and I can choose for the track a sample tank instrument, but then I "loose" my Ketron for all other instruments... Of course no problem when all other instruments are "Real Tracks", but for midi songs, I would like to use BOTH the Ketron and the virtual Synth (Sample Tank) Any suggestion how it could work? (or is it basically not possible?) Bernard

Thanks for the link Jazzman, I followed the instructions and installed the midiyoke and the ox one, but the examples shown in the instructions do not tell me much on how to use the outputs for the different softsynths, or at least I do not understand how it works for the different "re-routings" at the same time. Do you or someone else can expand a little bit on this. It's an interesting and certainly convenient way to use the Ketron and softsynths at the same time. Thanks for the explanation.

Same for me... First thank you, Jazzman,it was exactly what I was looking for... but second, how do I do it? I have downloaded both programs and they work... (I was just wondering not to be able to find and open the yoke program, but then discovered the outputs were there all right, in BiB. When using my Ketron I have the following Midi set up: Midi input: Line6 X2 (my interface for the guitar-loud speakers are equally plugged on it) Midi output:UM 1G (My midi connection to the Ketron). If I now change this initial set-up to 2 yokes (one input lets say yoke1, one output yoke2), it does not really work... I have the ketron working, and I can choose a Sample Tank sound FROM the BiB limited list of Sample Tank instruments but not directly in the Sample Tank plug-in once I have opened it in the plug-in tab of the mixer. This is certainly due to a "wrong connection" set-up from my part. But I dont "find the clue". Any idea? Bernard

I apologise for being so cryptic. However, no time...
But I think you have misunderstood my reference, or I sent the wrong one. Forget all that midi youke stuff, look at the midiredirector program app that Paul wrote. That is what I thought was the solution for sending midi to both and external and internal synth at the same time.

If you look carefully at the section headers you'll see the Midi Ox/Midi Yoke section is entitled "Hardware Synth + Hardware Ports". This is not for using a hardware synth together with soft synths as you indicated in the original post. It is for those that want to send midi data to multiple hardware ports (say a combination of synths, light controllers and harmonizers).
The section you want is "Software Synth + Hardware Ports", sub-section "Melody to Hardware Device". Note that melody could refer to any BiaB track.
In that section are a number of different configurations that depend on what you want to do. In the OP you stated that you simply want to send data to your Ketron. This is the simplest configuration. You do NOT need MidiOx/MidiYoke to do this (although they are useful for diagnostics).
The pertinent statement is this.
"First, if you have a hardware synth available... ...then you can use a one step procedure. Put a copy of MidiRedirector on the melody (or other) track you wish to send to your hardware device. Choose the port which has your device(s) connected. Now, when you play BiaB, the melody will go to your hardware device and synth."
I hope this helps.
Paul

Now that is what I meant to say at the very beginning. Paul, where were you? Nevermind, I think you have put the guys on the right track now.

I was really busy. I own an agricultural testing lab and this is my busy season. All the growers are getting the fields ready for spring. I still check the forum briefly most days but may miss some threads I could help with.

Thank you guys, I wasn't aware of Paul's VST plug in. I'll try that.
