Hi

I always enter my songs with the chords in concert pitch and then use the transpose function from the Practice window to see the chords in instrument pitch. For example if I enter the chord BbMaj7 in Concert pitch and then in the practice window click the Eb Alto button the chord correctly switches to GMaj7 that I would be playing on the Alto.

When I load that song into the ipad app, irrespective of the practice window it shows me the chord in concert pitch (BbMaj7).

However there is no button, well none I can find, to transpose the chords I see on my ipad to Alto key.

That is a big problem for me and limits the use of the application somewhat as I have Bb and Eb saxophones. The only way I can work around this problem is to

1: Open the song in BIAB Desktop.
2: Transpose the song using the key dropdown and saying yes transpose.
3: Save the song in that key with say Alto at end of file name.
4: Transpose the song again using the key dropdown and saying yes to transpose.
5: Save the song in that key with say Tenor at end of file name.
6: Load these individual songs into the ipad app.

Now I have my chords in the correct key for instrument but that brings another problem because when I press play the song is generated with backing tracks based on concert pitch instruments which makes the backing in the wrong key.

So that then leaves me with the worst option.

Do the transpose and print the chord changes for each song in the relevant key for each instrument and just play the backing in the standard concert pitch.

urghhh.

So someone please tell me I have overlooked the transpose button?

Many thanks.

John.
