This is a little "off the standard" path, but: I have a brand new Dell Latitude E6500 laptop computer. When it connects to a WiFi source, it sends off a loud beep. I want to turn this loud beep off. I've tried muting everything (i.e., I've gone to the Entertainment --> Volume Control....and muted everything), but the beep happens anyway when I turn off the WiFi and then re-connect to WiFi. Somewhere there must be a toggle box to check so this won't happen again. I'm hoping someone on the forum can suggest what to try to get this to stop.
I've also gone to the bar at the bottom of the screen where the sound horn appears and muted it, but this does not turn of the beep either upon a WiFi connect. I don't need this particular beep in my life....is there a hidden toggle switch just for this thingy? Incidentally, I'm using Windows XP.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated,
