What do you use as a reference recording for country music?
I'm thinking baritone voice, honky-tonk, train beat.

Hey Robb, I use the following CDs as references for my country/folk/Americana mixes, Alison Kraus and Union Station - New Favorite James Taylor - Hourglass Lyle Lovett - Joshua Judges Ruth Lyle Lovett - Lyle Lovett and His Large Band Paul Simon - You're The One Roy Rogers - Pleasure and Pain I found a nice list of recommended references here a while back and got a bunch of those CDs. http://www.digido.com/honor-roll.html?op...tstyle=f-larger-John

Joshua Judges Ruth is one of the best engineered albums ever - in my opinion. "She's Already Made Up Her Mind" is magical. Listen to the ride cymbals. Shivers of delight. And I don't really like Lyle Lovett's voice!
