I was messing around updating our software vintage synths the other day and this song just sort of appeared. It's unusual for me not to have any guitars in there, but the tracks simply came out as Drums, Rhodes piano, Prophet synth and brass. One more track for the vocal and then, would you believe, a further twenty four tracks of backing vocals.
Thanks go to my wife, June for helping out with the lyrics when I got blocked and to Josh Kenyon for additional backing vocals.
It is, of course, all recorded and mixed in PowerTracks.
BAD GIRL He was tall and handsome
He had money, he had style
He had everything a girl could want
Wrapped up in a smile
She was young and pretty
She was barely seventeen
She looked so sweet and gentle
But things aren't always what they seem
She was a bad girl, yes she was
And there was nothing he could do
She was bad from head to toe
She was a bad girl through and through
When she said she loved him
She never looked him in the eyes
Her smile was sweet as honey
But her eyes were cold as ice
Her words they dropped like velvet
Just as soft as summer rain
But underneath the softness
The hardness still remained
And when he said "I'm leaving
I've had more than I can take"
Her tears would fall, his heart would break
She knew he never could escape
You may have a strange feeling that you've been transported back to the 80s.
Thanks for listening.
