the ones i've see seem to be digital in to analog meaning they have a SPDIF digital input and analog rca or 1/4" outs

this would save me unplugging the guitar and mic

This is directly from Turtle Beach’s knowledge base:

“Customers often ask about "live" monitoring of analog inputs through to the S/PDIF Digital Output.

The S/PDIF Out is designed to be used with already digitized sources, such as CD tracks, MP3 files or DVD movie soundtracks.

Audio entering the soundcard from the analog audio inputs like the Microphone, Line or AUX inputs needs to be digitized before it can be processed by the computer. This is accomplished when recording from these inputs to a WAV file or similar.

Consequently, it is not possible for the soundcard to play incoming analog audio through to the S/PDIF Output, unless the analog audio is first recorded into a digital file format such as WAV, MP3, WMA
or similar.”

Life is short so make sure you spend as much time as possible on the Internet arguing with strangers.
