I'm having some problems saving my audio with my BIAB song. I'm not sure if a setting got changed or not. This worked once (I think). I have a song I created in BIAB (song.mgu). I then add (record) the audio. When I play it right back it sounds great. I save the final production. When I go back in to open the saved song, no audio. There is a file out there called "tempmain.wav". That is my audio recording. How do I get the two merged so when I open the song.mgu song I have them both? I take all the default settings when recording audio. To "get around" the problem for now, I record the finished production using other software's "what you hear" option while playing the song before exiting. The problem is I can't make any changes later down the road because I don't have the finished product.

Thanks

I believe if you Save the song after recording the audio, that will change the name to match your song.

i think rechael is correct as documented on page 106 of the 2008 pdf manual

The [Save] button saves your song in Band-in-a-Box format. Band-in-a-Box accompaniments are saved
with the file extension *.sgu. If a melody has been recorded the file extension will be *.mgu. The audio
track, if present, is saved as an associated wave file with the song name and the extension *.wav.

that's the theory now if there preference settings the over ride that................

I tried Save. I tried Save As also. Is there some other setting that needs to be "on"? Even after the Save, there is song.mgu and the temp.wav file still out there.

On my machine, I get a TEMPMAIN.WAV after recording audio. Once I hit Save, the name changes to match the file. I tried to reproduce your problem but could not. Try the process with another song. If that fails, try Return to Factory Settings.

worst case

if the .wav file is not in the dir where your .mgu file is copy it there & rename as your .mgu and yeah it's not optimum but it will tell you if the file loads with the song

if you haven't tried it yet a reboot & opt > return all to factory settings may help

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Heading out of town for a couple days. Will try it when I return.
