Yes, Mac is right that you must audition each possibility. I don't think there is consistency here, but that's OK because it gives more flexibility to get the right sound. I know sometimes this causes me an extra step in producing a leadsheet, when something I would like to notate in 4/4 sounds better in BIAB as 2/4 or vice versa.
