KC,

I admit my computer chops are a little out 'o date (like my music prefs) and I will admit your question might NOT be about audio outputs/routings (?) so forgive me but application bit level (or even the OS bit level) has nothing, that I can fathom, with how many outputs it can use. (within reason - clearly a 2-bit OS would struggle <G>)

I run Win 7 64 and BIAB (yes, it is still 32 bit), and Sonar X2 Producer (but I only installed the 32 bit version since, most all, except a few freebies, of my "plug-ins" are 32 bit).

Besides the other usual suspects I also run SampleTank 2 XL. Yes it is 32-bit but that has nothing to do with how many outputs it can use.

ST 2 Users Manual, page 40, bottom of page topic: "OUTPUTS NUMBER: the maximum number of Stereo outputs is 16, but may be lower depending on various platform limitations. …"

Sorry if I missed the actual meaning of your question or dilemma

My bad just realized I missed your ST use question

In ST:

1- under "Prefs' make sure your "Outputs Number" slider is at least more than just 1+2 (run it all the way to the right to get 31+32 (for 16 stereo pairs), then

2- at top under "Settings - > "Audio MIDI setup" (make sure you have more than 1 pair of left/right outputs selected - of course your audio DRIVER and HW needs to actually have those outputs), finally

3- on any part, in the column that says "out" (between vol and level) left click and hold while dragging mouse up and down (NOT left and right) and you can route that part to any stereo pair you have available

and yes this works
