I'm using, for the first time, my Guild X-150 equipped with Thomastik-Infeld jazz strings. Guitar players LISTEN UP:

Price-wise, you know what to expect when you buy a set of strings. I thought it would be fun to let you see how much you can pay for Thomastik-Infeld strings imported from Vienna. Just click below to find out.

So what is it about these strings so that only crazy people will buy them? To appreciate the answer you have to know just how awful flat wound strings sound on a guitar. Guitarists use them to eliminate the scratchy finger noise that you get with round-wound strings. Oh, they're awful silent alright, those flat-wounds. Actually, just scratch the word silent from the preceding sentence.

Here's the reason TI strings cost what they do: They are the only flat-wound strings that really do sound like round-wounds.

Another new feature: I play fretless bass on this tune, a blues I dedicate to my jazz guitarist compagno MarioD.

The RealTracks drummers are Terry Clarke and Craig Scott with heavy editing by me.
